What do you feed eastern box turtles?

I recently got an eastern box turtle. I found him in my ally. I usually dont take animals out of the wild but where i live, he wouldve gotten hurt. To many loose/stray dogs and cats everywhere and other threats. And also i live basically on a highway with alot of cars going through. I dont even know how he got here. Its amazing to me. I thought about taking him down to the river but its nothing but a big polluted mess. Its nasty. I've been taking care of reptiles for quite a while but never had a turtle. I usually only keep lizards. I've seen videos of these turtles eating lots of things but the only thing he seems to eat is waxworms and nightcrawlers so far. He won't eat any fruits and vegetables like i see in videos. I'm thinking it's just because hes from the wild. So what do you feed your eastern box turtles? And also. How many watts should a heat bulb for this turtle be? The one i have for him right now is a 50w with uva. I also have a uvb bulb for him as well>

A person has grown up in a poor country where he was malnourished, the air was heavily polluted, and there was a lot of violent crime, so he lived in constant fear. These factors caused him to not grow as tall as his genetic potential would have allowed. If he moves to a rich country at age 21, where there is nutritious food, clean air, and safe neighbourhoods, can this improved quality of life cause him to grow to his full genetic potential? Or is it too late in his life to grow taller?

Not sure why you think "horrifically bad" but I got the picture. The purpose of telling a story, be it fiction or non, is to communicate a thought or idea. I thought it was very descriptive of the details and created a scenario I could see in my head and almost experience with my senses. You gave enough detail but did not overdue it to the extent of boredom. When people read fiction they want the experience of feeling like they are there. Just keep finding descriptions of detail that triggers the readers senses. Like right now I am thinking of chocolate! I can see it, smell it and taste it though I have not even bought it yet:) Just keep in mind it is easier to make the reader experience something they have actually experienced. When it comes to something less common, pay special attention to the key details to make it come alive. Your little excerpt here scores an A+ in my book!!

Skymiles false advertising?

I singed up for deltas sky miles program since i fly a lot (about 4 times a year). I thought that by singing up i would get free lugage, faster checkin faster bording sky club access better security lines and first class upgrades. I went to the skymiles checkin counter at Miami and wastold that it was only for their "elite" members. I told them that i was an elite sky miles member. They checked some things and said i was only a general member, which doesnt get any benifits other than getting miles for flights, otherwise it is teh same as being a non member. what the hell? so flying 4 or 5 times a year isnt alot? its way the hell more then anyone else i know. how much do you have to do to become "elite" with them. are all airlines like this? i deserve to have more benifits than someone who only flies one or twice a year or not a all? too bad delta doesn't see it this way. I will be doing business with another airline next time and sending them a letter. i will switch to an airline where i will be elite. damn it!

Is it illegal that my landlord changed the locks on my apartment, stole and vandalized my personal belongings?

Here's the situation, i moved in to my apartment 2 months ago, the landlord only requested $200 up front to move in. My brother singed the lease with me because he was going to be the only one living there (him being responsible for all the rent) but he ended up going to jail. I just went to my apartment last week and the locks were changed on the front door, luckily he hadn't changed the back door locks yet. I went in to grab my 2 pet ferrets and noticed that all my belongings had been thrashed and scattered around the apartment along with my brand new $800 mattress missing. I was only able to grab a few things along with my ferrets, so i returned to the apartment a week later, the neighbors saw me and said "i'm supposed to call the police if we see you!" They then brought to my attention the no trespassing notice on the door. Before i could even turn around to leave there was my landlord hovering over me. I said, "can you please let me in i want to move my stuff out of here?" as i went to turn the door knob he violently grabbed my wrist and said,"you can't go in there until i get my rent money!" I just want to know any and all legal advice along with my rights and what i should do to get my stuff back including my bed if not be paid for all my losses. Hand fatigue when playing certain things on guitar. How do I get rid of this?

I can practice for an hour and not feel anything in my left hand, but as soon as start playing certain chord progressions or patterns my left hand gives out. Why do rivers have their source at top of hills and mountains?

as opposed to starting out of springs or other at sea level. I cannot understand how enough water goes to the top of hills to create rivers. It is not melting snow because the rivers continue in summer. Something scientific must make the water rise underground to form the springs.

What's your opinion on living in a country/rural area?

There's great reasons to love country living but there are 2 reasons I wouldn't go back to a small country town. Firstly the medical services are minimal, we got a doc in town for 4 hours every 2 weeks at one point. And the other is the gossip. I have watched so many people decimate others. I didn't like everyone knowing what I was doing all the time, and some people had the attitude that they had the right to know. I know gossip is everywhere but in a larger place you can find other friends and get away from it, not always possible in a country town. I was at the chemist getting a prescription made up and the woman standing next to me wasn't even subtle about looking to see what it was. She then gave me a look that very clearly said, "Well, I'm waiting, tell me what it's for." I just said, "Have a lovely day Mrs ........... and left. That one cost me as she made something up and it was.....well....very spiteful. I couldn't take it all the time every time I left the house so we left the area when a transfer opportunity came up. I suppose it wasn't the place for me.

Why can't I do pull-ups?

I'm about 220 lbs, and 6 feet tall. I know I'm overweight, but I'm actually in pretty good shape. I don't look fat at all, actually, I'm just not even fat. I can run about 4 to 5 miles non-stop, I can do about 30-35 push ups, and same for sit-ups, but I can't do a singe pull-up to save my life. Is this due to my weight, or are my arms not strong enough? I am a teller and i let a kid use a credit card.. I know kids can get credit cards if there parents co-sing for them. (you know so thy can understand how the system works. Is this fair? It seems to me it's kinda of like giving someone a remote control with a shiny red button on it. Even though it's quite tempting to push it, the manual says that if you push the button then you're going to be judged harshly when it's all over with. What a temptation! At that point you might be inclined to throw away the controller, but no, you have to carry it around with you for all life, and if you throw it away then you'll be judged harshly as well. Updating to Mac OS Leopard on a partitioned iMac?

Hi, I have an a 24" iMac (the older, white one) and its currently on OS 10.4x Tiger, and it has a boot camp partition for Windows XP. I want to update the mac side to 10.5x Leopard, and later to Snow Leopard, but, firstly I am unsure whether the everything will be wiped, and secondly, if all my mac files stay, will the Windows XP partition be affected in any way? How can people live on an island like Hawaii and be happy?

I know this seems like a "obvious" question because Hawaii is beautiful. But it is really not beautiful, we have one of the highest homeless rates because no freezing weather, and also most of the island is polluted by local people and asians who only accept you if you are the same race as them. Also being on this little island makes me feel claustrophobic :( I have lived here all my life, and moved to Cali for 3 years and then came back, making that transition made me realize how amazing the mainland was. In Hawaii its hot 24/7 which is really sickening, even when you are trying to sleep and its like 80� outside, it really SUCKS really bad. Also seasons are amazing to witness, where as here on Hawaii everyday for the rest of your life you will never witness beautiful fall leaves, or anything, even Christmas is miserable and hot, whats the fun of holidays and stuff if the weather is repetitive every day of your life. It feels as though I am stuck in the same day every day. EXACT same weather every day. SO HORRIBLE Just living on an island like this is horrible, with absolutely no jobs.

I tried a failed intervention tried everything i could think of the point of where i had to get out or something terrible was going to happen. She called me at 3 in the morning recently begging me take her back. I told her i loved her but unless she gave up the drugs i couldn't be her boyfriend. I heard from her mother she was in rehab because she missed me. She singed herself out after 3 days went back to her apartment and the next morning she was found dead. How do I get the pictures off my iPhone to iPhoto?

Well, I have a Macbook, OSX Snow Leapord. Awhile ago I used iPhoto to put pictures on my iPhone. Thus removing my photos form my computer. A while ago I moved iPhoto library to an external hard drive to make space, and now I've moved it back. However, when I open iPhoto, it still tells me I have no pictures. I think I may have created anotherfile or something that iPhoto is going to pull from, which is empty, or somethign like that. I also have the pictures on my iPhone if that can help me, but whenever I use like iphoto or the image grabber for Macs it just takes off the pictures I took with my camera on my phone. Chances are no one's gonna care if you're on your period because they're all girls in the locker room and I'm sure they'll understand. You can still run and do all that while wearing a pad, it just might be more uncomfortable if your period is heavy. You can always try wearing tampons, but if that makes you uncomfortable just stick with pads, get the thin ones with wings and the longer size to assure no leaks. Maybe you can make a quick stop at the bathroom right before gym and put a fresh pad on. Also if you're comfortable and if you have a female gym teacher ask if you can keep some pads in her office. If not, you could even ask the school nurse and stop there before class and put a new pad on. You might think it's embarrassing to ask the nurse or teacher, but I guarantee you they will think nothing of it and they will be completely understanding. How can i partition an external hard drive to use it for both windows and mac?

Okay, since I prefer windows I'll give you instructions on how to partition your 1.5 TB drive on Win XP. Right click "My Computer" once your machine is up and running and click "manage". Click on "Disk Management" on the left side panel and you should see your primary drive listed and your 1.5 TB drive. Right-Click on the 1.5 TB drive and click "Shrink Volume". Select the size that you want and continue. When that is completed you'll have raw volumes that you'll need to format. The 500 GB volume format as NTFS. To do this, right-click on the 500GB volume and click format. Select the appropriate options, give it a name if you wish, and proceed with formating it. Once you're done with that, connect your drive to your Apple computer and navigate to disk management. (That should be in system properties if I recall). Format the 1TB side of the drive in Apple's trademark Journal system and it will be recognized by your mac for full use. Connect your 320GB drive to the Mac and do the same. Now you have a partition free for windows xp, 1TB formated for use with Time Machine, and a 320 GB drive for whatever you want. That should just about do it. There are applications available that claim to make things easier for you, but really the tools you need to format and partition drives are included within the Mac and Windows operating systems and therefore it really isn't necesary to have something with additional features unless you wanted to do some added options with formating. Some cool and clever ways to come up with names for things, such as people names and country names, in stories are to use anagrams, that is rearranging a word or phrase into one word which you can use to mask a term, in which you are making slight references to. For example, if you wanted to name a street in a 'rich country' the street could be 'Chicory Turn' which is an anagram for the previously quoted thing. You can also make subtle hints by using an online translator an translating a word that has a likeness to the type of thing you are naming, say its a wasteland, and translate, say the word 'destroyed' into some obscure language like icelandic or polish. I'm on Mac OSX snow leopard, and was downloading fonts, Was looking them up on Fontbook. I noticed on Chrome that my fonts were changed, so I disabled those fonts (that I downloaded), and it went back to normal, besides everything is bold. I checked Chrome preferences and all of the fonts are restored to default, which is what it's always been. I was wondering if there was a way to restore it back without reinstalling chrome? Thanks.

Why would my phone line work but not my DSL?

It had been working fine for years. But one morning I woke up and the DSL was just not doing anything. It's in the same jack and the equipment was all replaced and confirmed to be in working order. When I unplug the phone and run a line from the jack directly to the modem, it doesn't acknowledge that it's plugged in at all. Whenever I raise the fact that the 9/11 responders can't afford health insurance, he denies it and says "Everyone is insured in this country". Conservatives claim that Obama has ruined the country, but provide no evidence other than hypocritical, cherry-picked data and anecdotes... as well as stereotypes like "Welfare Queens" extending the wait times for healthcare. I heard one guy on Fox News claim that we're "Taxing Success"... really? These guys must be genius to find such successful justifications for their own selfishness, flaunting their wealth and establishing monopolies that influence our government. These guys would have much more money than the common man anyways... take, for instance, Eisenhower/Nixon-era tax rates. We're talking 70-90% income tax rates for the richest people in America... they still lived happily while we built vital infrastructure like Schools, Highways, and other modern-day necessities. Then Reagan came along and screwed the lower classes under the guise of the cold war and other flag-waving drivel.... unions were fired, the economy was deregulated, the rich got richer while the poor got poorer. Last night me and my cousins were lighting some fireworks. I agree that the first sentence is too long. It should be two sentences, the first one ending with "Downy Street." But then the second sentence doesn't quite make sense. The end of the sentence, "...stood far from the...buildings that shielded the people an absolute panorama of a vast and well-polluted river" sounds like something is missing after the word "people." The part of the sentence about the river seems unnecessary or needs to be included elsewhere. The second-to-last sentence would be stronger if you changed "it" to "the museum." It's an interesting beginning because the reader wants to know more about the museum and its secret visitors, but I think it would be stronger if you removed some of the descriptive phrases and just wrote it more directly. For instance, the paragraph would have a stronger beginning if you said, "Five miles from the Asylum..." instead of "A mere five miles..."

I know it is only summer, but i want to start planning for a backyard ice rink in the winter. My first question is where can i get a plastic tarp/liner because i don't want to wait for the snow which most likely will not fall until january? Airsoft snow wolf m99 trigger parts?

So I took apart my m99 because it was slam firing and it's the sears that aren't working. I know this because I brought it to a shop but they didn't have the parts.
