Is Indian Railway track is the largest open air latrine/lavatory/urinal?

In Indian trains, there are only holes in the commodes, so when one uses it, all the urine and feces drops from that hole when the train is in motion. So, all along the railway tracks thousands of mens and womens dirty feces and urine pollute the open tracks near the villages and crop fields. And flies can pollute the environment in the nearby villages. But this practice has been going on from the beginning of the Indian Railways. Do you think that those feces and urine should have been buried under the soil or in septic tanks for safety of the environment?
